Bones, germs and chemistry have kept me from you!

So my studies have held me captive lately but I have managed to crawl out from under my textbooks and say hello.

Bones as font - I like this quite a lot!

Remember to cover your sneezes
peeps or you look like this lady

Chemistry,  do I like it? Na!!!

Tell us a yarn! A yarn tree that is!

Our yarn tree!

A bit of tree hugging, to check if it was a bit warmer in those woollies!

Cloudy car craft on the way home

This is what we got up to last week,we made a yarn tree! The 2 of the 3 teens joined in as well as the lovely M. We selected this tree from a line up of  thousands. The attachment of the yarn was completed to Rammstein (teens music, my ipod?) blaring across empty paddocks, needless to say the tree was completed quickly, we were feeling pumped!
The whoosh of traffic going by were tooting, they obviously like trees to be warm too.
We've also done some shopping, warmed up with chai lattes, got cracking on some custom
t-shirt making and watched Offspring on DVD.

Feed me!!

     photo9 (1) (478x640)
This was a totally awesome experience that I will always remember. One of the Giraffes was a little cranky and not being very gracious. Her keeper assumed that perhaps hormones were responsible!!!
My apologies for the low quality picture, but it was too good not to share. What zoo animal do you love?

G for Giraffe!!!

Did you know?
Giraffes have elastic blood vessels in their necks, allowing them to bend their neck to the ground and lift it again, without fainting.
Giraffes have only seven vertebrae, the same number as you.
The giraffe sleeps on average only 1.9 hours per day (without becoming manic!)
Did you know I love Giraffes?
I am so very excited to be lucky enough to have a Giraffe encounter next week. You can read all about it here
This is going to be super special, I can just tell!

May has been mayhem.. so far

Although May has gotten off to a somewhat crapola start,I am hopeful the remainder will be filled with;

LOVE
PLAY time, really connect - turn off the TV, the phones, computer and the rest of the world for a moment. MAKING of items with yarn and showing GRATITUDE for all things.

And of course SWEET tunes, this  film clip is especially super cute!
Here's hoping I am successful xxx

Wish it weren't so, but it is...

We are sombre here at ours as we have lost a beautiful man in our family, way too early.
It just seems mighty unfair. That's what we feel right now.
He was a vibrant, engaging, warm and loving man. Who luckily crammed so much into this life.
It makes me think of this song. Fitting for a man who acted as though he knew he wasn't here for a long time, but a good one....

MONA, travel planning and kidney for sale..maybe?

Roy

Pav -first

Currently I'm researching a Tasmanian getaway and MONA is on my to do list, for sure. You can stay at Mona in super flash luxury dens on the River Derwent. They are named after Australian architects and artists. They are a bit in the sell a kidney price range.

Each pavilion has a kitchen, wine fridge, wireless touch panels for climate, lighting, and entertainment, wireless internet and personal security camera. And of course a great set of boobs above the bed!!
Charles, Arthur, Sidney and Brett each has a painting by its namesake, as well as antiquities and a collection of ancient coins.
I'm not sure what we'd do with the coin collection?? Dress up in bed sheets and play ancient shopkeepers?
One can dream......oh and we'd take The Brett thanks!
Take a look for yourself MONA

How much is that Doggy in the Window?

I have a memory as a child my year One class performed the song "How much is that Doggy in the window" to the rest of the school at "Whole School Assembly." What I do recall was having a prosthetic dog tail made from one leg of ladies stockings,  filled with scrunched up paper and attached to my bum with a safety pin. I seem to remember feeling fraudulent as I sang the song, as I am a lifelong Cat lover. I like dogs but don't fancy one in my life....or so I thought.
This week we have had the fortune of minding a little guy and he's challenged my resolve somewhat!
He is a little ray of sunshine and has provided lots of laughs and cuddles. Pierre and The Baby have been surprisingly tolerant of our house guest who is going home today.
What a revelation to us all, thanks little guy for bringing a different brand of happiness to our home.

This picture makes me smile!
Today is such a sunny autumn day here, quite possibly a little cool for this outfit... well except for the brolly!
Happy sunny Sunday!

If I had a Hammer.......

 If I had a hammer,
I'd hammer in the morning
I'd hammer in the evening,
All over this land
I'd hammer out danger,
I'd hammer out a warning,
I'd hammer out love between my brothers and my sisters,
All over this land.

Ahhh The sweet folkie lyrics of Peter, Paul and Mary. I do have a hammer, and a saw and a ladder and they are helping me get some cracking work done on Clementine the Caravan. The lovely M has been so helpful and provides comic relief! Yep there's Cider too, it helps with perspective in the late afternoon..now where's that Hammer....

Sheeesh, I'm waiting for that something beautiful!!!

Oooh I wish I had some excellent news or a fabulous story to tell but I've got nothin' Things at ours have been simply crapola. Some things become clear during such times, there are those who are distinctly absent and that my friends, work mates and the beautiful M have provided some amazing support.
This has got to get better, improve, we'll see the light at the end of the tunnel, our luck will change and all those other useless sayings folks offer when things are....shit! I know it will but  for now though Julia Stone can offer some relief for a few minutes!!!!
